Know How
Find your setup and swing
When building a house, the foundation is everything. Without a solid foundation the house crumbles. The same can be said about a persons golf game. Throughout my years of golf instruction, it never ceases to amaze me how many times a persons swing error has a direct correlation to how he or she sets up. We might not be able to swing like a touring golf professional but there is no excuse for not setting up like one. It takes some time and effort to consistently setup correctly. Not a lot of time, but quality concentrated time. Sometimes spending five minutes in front of a mirror practicing a setup procedure is more productive than actually hitting golf balls. Let me help you find your correct setup and setup procedure.
Once the correct setup is achieved, it is time for the motion to begin. How you do this depends on you. The goal for any swing is to make good contact and send the golf ball down the target line. There are many ways to do this. If your arms are long, a longer arm swing is probably for you. If they are shorter, more of a body pivot with a shorter arm swing is probably for you. How you set the wrists is also a personal choice. Usually, if the arm swing is long, the wrist set is later and if the arm swing is shorter, the wrist set should happen sooner. There are many swing methods in golf and golf instruction. My goal is to help you find the one that works best for you. Having a correct setup and balanced, repeating swing is the foundation of a golf game. Learning the correct setup and motion in the short game is a huge part of the foundation as well. Let me help you with this.
