Your Goals

Are you a beginner, a tournament player, or somewhere in between? An essential step to take before beginning an instruction program is to decide what type of golfer you generally are, what your goals are for your game improvement, and what facet of the game you would like to work on to get there:

Golfer Types

BeginnerGoal:  To his some good shots and enjoy the game.

Play once or twice a year with no time for practice:  Goal:  Learn to make solid contact once in a while and not embarrass myself.

Play a couple times a month and have a little time to practice:  Goal:  A somewhat repeatable swing with narrowing miss dispersion and an knowledge of swing tendency.

Play weekly, but do not practice:  Goal:  Start to understand your swing and the root cause of your swing error and how to fix it.

Play once or twice a week and practice one - two hours per week:  Goal:  Know your swing tendencies and how to adjust.  Pay special attention to short game and pre-shot routine.

Play multiple times a week, but not competitively:  Goal:  Understand ball flight causes and adjustments.  Rock solid short game.

Competitive Player:  Goal:  How to deal with nervous anxiety and perform.  Understand ball flight, swing tendency adjustments, and learn to move in and out of concentration.

Physical Disability:  Goal: Find a golf swing motion for you where contact is fairly consistant & find a way to enjoy the game.
